About the Foundation
Educational "extras" make a critical difference between a very good school system and a great one.  Ball-Chatham Community Unit School District #5 is a great school system with solid funding mechanisms.  Because of this, our schools don't qualify for program funding that covers the many "extras" our students need.  Thus the formation of the Ball-Chatham Educational Foundation (BCEF) in 2001.

BCEF is a non-profit, autonomous, tax-exempt organization, directed by a board of trustees.  Members include parents, teachers and administrators.  The trustees are committed to raising and distributing funds for the educational extras that will make our school system great.

Our Mission
Raise and distribute funds in support of the Ball-Chatham Community Unit School District #5 Schools:

  • Ball Elementary School
  • Chatham Elementary School
  • Glenwood Intermediate School
  • Glenwood Middle School
  • Glenwood High School

Goals
The Foundation will achieve its mission by channeling talents and funds into projects which:

Bring new technology into our classrooms

Enhance staff development and creativity

Encourage innovative programmatic initiatives

Work with and support other groups and/or individuals interested in contributing to the success of the Ball-Chatham Community Unit School District #5 educational mission.
